VMware Acquires Apteligent: Analytics for the Digital Workspace

End-to-End Performance Management from Mobile Devices to Infrastructure Across Private and Public Clouds

By Sumit Dhawan, senior vice president and general manager, End-User Computing, VMware

Organisations are increasingly building mobile and cloud applications as part of their digital transformation journey. As they embrace these applications to conduct business and perform mission-critical processes and tasks, negative end-user experiences affect end-user engagement and productivity, which can directly impact revenue. To mitigate these challenges, organizations need powerful end-to-end monitoring solutions to deliver applications with flawless performance and gain insights into end-user engagement.

That is why I’m pleased to announce the acquisition of Apteligent’s assets, further reinforcing our commitment to help our customers through their digital transformation journey. By adding Apteligent’s capabilities to our digital workspace platform, our customers will gain the ability to enhance application performance and improve user experience through actionable application insights.

The Apteligent platform enables both mobile app developers and IT organisations analyse mobile application performance in real time, enabling them to understand user behavior to address the issues that matter the most—and directly impact business and revenue.

Apteligent removes barriers between developers and end users by providing converged visibility and contextual analytics. These powerful insights help development teams prioritise issues and address app performance challenges faster, improving application uptime and user experience, reducing churn rate and facilitating better collaboration. Apteligent supports all major mobile operating system (OS) platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows Phone 10, Hybrid and HTML5 apps.

Apteligent adds to VMware’s portfolio of management and monitoring technologies and will offer customers end-to-end performance management from mobile devices to infrastructure across private and public clouds. We will work to leverage and integrate Apteligent’s innovative technologies within our digital workspace platform to help enterprise developers with end-to-end performance management, user behavior analytics and business insights.

The acquisition of Apteligent, along with the recent Wavefront and Arkin/vRealize® Network Insight™ acquisitions, show VMware’s commitment to providing customers with solutions that offer deep insights and granular analytics to improve the performance, availability and experience of their digital services.

Developers can continue to use Apteligent and Wavefront as standalone solutions, and the future integration of Apteligent with the digital workspace is expected to bring added benefits to IT.

We are incredibly excited to have the Apteligent team join us and contribute to our unique VMware culture. We are confident that our customers will ultimately benefit from adding Apteligent’s talent and technology to the VMware portfolio of products, and I look forward to the day we can share more about our upcoming integrations together.
