IGEL to showcase latest virtual computing technology at this year’s vForum event

SYDNEY, November 2nd, 2017 – IGEL, a world leader in endpoint management software for the secure enterprise, will showcase several cutting-edge workplace technologies at this year’s vForum event, as well as teaming up with Samsung, NVIDIA and Lakeside to offer insights on obtaining a complete, high-performance virtual workplace experience.

Titled “VDI Simplified”, the consortium of companies offers resellers and end-users insights on obtaining an advanced, simple and scalable Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) experience, including the advanced user functionality that employees have come to expect from a traditional desktop experience, such as graphics, video communications and multimedia.

Among the solutions on display at vForum will be the IGEL UD Pocket, which is the world’s smallest thin client. The USB-bootable device plugs into a PC or laptop, automatically bringing that device into a predefined virtual network with full cloud computing functionality and security. Early adopters of the technology in Australia have found the UD Pocket to be a useful tool for implementing secure workplace mobility, as well as a fast, simple method of bringing legacy hardware into a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) – with the added benefit of extending the functional life of that hardware.

IGEL’s Cloud Gateway IGEL Cloud Gateway extends the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) via a standard internet connection to IGEL OS-powered endpoints running in remote branch offices, at home offices or by mobile workers. The IGEL Cloud Gateway seamlessly authenticates connection and transfers necessary data between the Universal Management Suite and the endpoint, without a VPN or leased line. Across all industries, IGEL Cloud Gateway offers IT Pros a dedicated virtual tunnel for the transparent and secure management of IGEL OS-powered endpoints, including hardware converted by IGEL’s Universal Desktop Converter and UD Pocket.

IGEL will be giving away a Tesla 3 in 2018, following on from the success of the company’s Tesla giveaway in 2017. Visitors to the stand at vForum can enter the draw by obtaining a special code.

The company has also added an Australian event to the IGEL DISRUPT series of world-class end-user computing forums, to be held in Melbourne’s Crown Casino on March 14 and 15. For more details please visit http://www.disrupteuc.com/

IGEL and associates are on stand F7 at the vForum event, at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Sydney’s Darling Harbour.
